SPACE Uganda runs a volunteer program and welcomes volunteers from overseas to Uganda or stay at home and collaborate from there. Space Uganda needs different people from different parts of the world, who can come together and we all try our best to add some happiness in the lives of the little ones with disabilities. Every volunteer can make a difference in our community.We would love to have you join us as a Volunteer so that we can work together to improve the socio-economic lives of children and young people with disabilities at the grass root level in Uganda.We are looking for short-term and long-term volunteers with different skills in the following areas:

  1. Medical volunteers i.e. physiotherapists, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapist, etc
  2. Teacher volunteers
  3. People with experience working with children with special needs
  4. Counseling and social worker
  5. HIV/AIDS awareness educators
  6. People who love children with disabilities

Our ambassador

Would you like to help raise awareness about our activities and services so that we can be able to reach out to more children and young persons with disabilities in Uganda? You can pay a valuable role and make a difference by becoming an ambassador for us. An Ambassador is someone that is willing to promote and contribute to the work we do. As an ambassador you’re our representative and very important member of our family. Our ability to support and reach out to more children and young people with disabilities depends on the support of very generous people like you. As an ambassador you serve to sensitize people who may not be aware of our work and activities.

Children and families that we serve are located in various rural villages and in impoverished communities. We provide a safe space for families to be supported and encouraged, carry each other’s burdens and celebrate each other’s victories. We are able to reach out to various families to enable them learning and growing alongside their child because of generous donors like you. When you choose to sponsor one of our community-based care families, you are providing families with accessible and centralized medical and educational resources, and a community of support to empower them as their meet their child’s needs at home.
