Our Family Empowerment Program is designed to provide comprehensive support to families with children who have disabilities in rural communities. We understand that families play a crucial role in the overall well-being and development of their children. We recognised the existing vacuum of support offered to families of children with disabilities.
This program aims to empower families by equipping them with knowledge, resources, and skills as well as offering peer support and success stories to effectively navigate the challenges they may face.
We provide families with accurate and up-to-date information regarding disabilities, available resources, and support services. This includes guidance on accessing healthcare, education, social welfare benefits, and legal rights related to disabilities. By equipping families with knowledge, we empower them to make informed decisions and advocate for their children’s needs.
We also facilitate support networks and peer connections among families facing similar challenges. Through support groups, parent-led initiatives, and community events, families can connect with others who understand their experiences. These networks provide emotional support, a platform for sharing experiences and resources, and an opportunity to build lasting friendships.
Under this program, our main purpose is to ensure that parents and caregivers are empowered with skills, knowledge, and funds to either set up their own businesses or scale up already existing business. These skills include modern tailoring, hair dressing, art and design, soap and candle making, poultry farming. They also receive financial literacy and management skills and are also supported to join saving groups.
