Every child is a symbol of hope, but sometimes their brightness is dimmed due to health challenges. At SPACE Uganda, we are committed to reigniting that brightness in every child we come across. Our approach to medical care is not just about treatment; it’s about nurturing the whole child. We provide personalized medical attention, ensuring that each child receives care that is tailored to their unique needs. Our healthcare initiatives include:

Corrective surgery

We have established partnerships with specialized hospitals to provide appropriate referrals for children with disabilities who need corrective surgery. Some of the disabilities include clubfoot, hydrocephalus, spina bifida, cleft lip/palate, burn contractures, osteomyelitis (bone infection) and others.

We strongly believe that by providing the necessary treatment for their physical disabilities, these children will have hope for a better life, and will be able to become productive members of their families and communities. This will help them overcome the stigma of being seen as a burden.

Mobility support

We also receive mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and crutches, which we distribute to children with disabilities. These aids make it easier for them to move around and increase their independence and dignity. We strongly believe that ensuring children’s mobility is a crucial step towards empowering them.

Nutrition support

We believe that proper nutrition is essential for a child’s physical and mental development. Our nutrition programs are carefully crafted to provide every child with access to healthy, well-balanced meals that cater to their individual needs. Our mission is to offer nutritious and balanced foods that are high in protein, vitamins, and healthy fats to undernourished children with disabilities in the community.
